I went to the cinema to watch "Puss in boots" today and liked it - the cartoon was lovely (in spite of some below-the-belt jokes) and very relaxing. The Puss is just adorable. Those eyes!

But apparently I'm not going to the Tim Burton Movie Night - it's quite sad. But not too sad. I can make a T.B. movie night mysekf, can't I? ;D  

I feel very much like ST rewatching again.

Aha, I have watched "Jane Eyre" (the last version) today. Finally! I was supposed to do this long before today.

I don't have a whole impression - maybe it's just the question of time, I don't know. On the one hand - amazing cast (Mia is a prefect Jane, I've always said this), beautiful filming - i loved the image of England, quite atmospheric, the great base of Charlotte Bronte's book, finally! But on the other hand - too many, way too many discrepancies with the original plot. And also too many thing added but the directer (who is talented, no doubts, but). So I am not sure.

My Mom, who have not read the book loved the movie. I know that if I hadn't read it, I would love the movie too. But I have read. And I find all the attempts to re-write the classics to be lame.

But Mia! Mia! Still wonderful.

I fall for "Sweeney Todd" again and again, every time I watch it over. I know the original idea doesn't belong to Tim, it's a famous English musical, but with Burton's twist it becomes special . Such a wonderful cast, songs, the gloomy image of London, costumes, decorations, everything works perfectly. And the plot as well that is deeper than it seems from the first sight.

And those characters! Fascinating how real they seem in spite of all the grotesque and theatricality of the story.

I almost finished readinf "Jane Eyre" book written by amazing Charlotte Bronte. A damn shame that i didn't do thi before, her language is precious. And now i crave to watch the movies - the very first one as it it really close to the book, i know, and the newest one as Mia Wasikowska is a perfect Jane.
